In the article by Arnett et al, “2019 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease: A Report of the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Task Force on Clinical Practice Guidelines,” which published ahead of print on March 17, 2019, and appeared in the September 10, 2019, issue of the journal (Circulation. 2019;140:e596–e646. DOI: 10.1161/CIR.0000000000000678), several corrections were needed.

    1. On page e597, in the Top 10 Take-home Messages section, second column, item No. 4 read, “4. All adults should consume a healthy diet that emphasizes the intake of vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, lean vegetable or animal protein,….” To provide clarity in the wording regarding a healthy diet, it has been updated to read, “4. 2. On page e605, in the Recommendation-Specific Supportive Text section, second column at the bottom, item No. 1 read, “1. Plant-based and Mediterranean diets, along with increased fruit, nut, vegetable, legume, and lean vegetable or animal protein….” To provide clarity in the wording regarding a healthy diet, it had been updated to read, “1. These corrections have been made to the current online version of the article, which is available at https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIR.0000000000000678.
