Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) released by polymorphonuclear cells from patients with ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (STE-ACS). Polymorphonuclear cells were isolated from culprit lesion site aspirates during primary percutaneous coronary intervention, and stimulated with PMA (50 ng/mL) for 2 hours in vitro. Immunohistochemical staining was performed utilitzing hematoxylin (blue) to stain cell nuclei, and an anti-DNAHistone antibody (red) to stain NETs. See related article, page 1182.
